Flesh and Bone is an intense viewing experience. A couple of big names are involved in the creation and directing of this project and it shows.

If you are going to watch this show, just keep going, don’t give up, even if you do give up return in time.

A young woman’s hope, her drive to rise above her situation, leave her life behind and immerse herself in the almost fictional experience of dance is mesmerizing.

The whole show sounds like a bad cliche, and admittedly some of the parts with the mentally ill house man come across as mid 90’s crap movie wtf ness but viewing this series, for me at least, was ultimately terrifying traumatic and fulfilling.

The series is about a ballet company set in New York and the show just about covers 60 percent of women’s issues using very in your face methods.

Rape, molestation, sex trafficking, murder, eating disorders, verbal abuse, mental manipulation, teenage pregnancy, self harm, incest, prostitution, single parenting, dead beat dads, divorce, pregnancy, ageing, mental illness, disability and so much more.

This television series rips the bandaid straight off and shoves pain, misery and whatever else straight in your face.

I personally found it to be well worth my time and in many ways a reflection of the shit many women and possibly men have to put up with  during their lifetime.
