Logan’s run is based on the novel by William F. Nolan, It’s an interesting watch and the miniatures are intriguing to view in this day and age of CGI.

The story is a sci -fi and Logan Michael York is a sandman who has to enforce the rules of the colony. The rules being that no one is allowed to pass the age of thirty.

Logan’s run is not bad for a dystopian tale and contains some excellent film making which is exhibited by the at times hypnotic scenes and interesting characters in the film.

I recommend this one, especially to sci -fi buffs, it’s clear that the novel and the film influenced entire generations of writers and filmmakers since in only the last year there has been three or four films of the same nature and story line.

You’ll wish you had seen this one before watching Aeon Flux, that’s for sure. 🙂

7 out of 10.

  1. i love ‘Box’ in this film, the insane robot who talks about ‘sea-greens’ and keeps dead people in a huge underground fridge…

umm, anyway, nice little write-up! 😉

  2. Its the sexy bit in the middle that I always remember. I saw it as a kid in the 70s and I remember feeling a bit weird afterwards, like life was never going to be the same again.

  3. I like the movie but most important it was my introduction to Farrah Fawcett:
Right after I saw her in LR: Bloody ‘ell you’re annoying.
A few weeks later: WHAT WAS I THINKING YOU’RE ADORABLE AND I LOVE YOU! *finds Charlie’s Angels*
