Roman Coppola served up a stylish visual feast in this lackluster film about a graphic designers failed love life. I can only speculate regarding the reason that Roman chose to cast Charlie in the leading role as the protagonist, needless to say it was hardly a winning performance by the washed up sitcom actor.
My humble opinion of poor little rich Charlie is that working on two and a half men, a boring sitcom where he plays a narcissistic selfish playboy drove him insane. Unfortunately playing the lead in this film failed to inspire his talent or creativity resulting in a mind numbing performance not unlike his recent performance in the sitcom Anger Management, which I think is a terrible shame as the film certainly had the potential for at least mediocre status.
It’s a 3 out of 10 from me.
